EN| Finally it is finished. The new hiking trail between Chiclana and San Fernando, which not only connects the two towns, but also allows a beautiful bike tour far from any major roads all the way to Cadíz city. The trail is 5.4 km long and goes through the wetlands of the Natural Park of the Bahía of Cadiz.

El nuevo sendero entre Chiclana y San Fernando, que no sólo conecta las dos pueblos, sino que también permite ahora un hermoso paseo en bicicleta lejos de cualquier carretera hasta Cadíz. El sendero tiene una longitud de 5,4 km y discurre por los marismas del Parque Natural de la Bahía de Cádiz.

Der neue Wanderweg zwischen Chiclana und San Fernando, der nicht nur die beiden Städte verbindet, sondern nun auch eine wunderschöne Radtour fern aller großen Straßen bis nach Cadíz erlaubt. Der Weg ist 5,4 km lang und führt durch die Feuchtgebiete des Naturparks der Bahía von Cádiz.

EN| The tour is very simple. From the parking lot we cross the blue bridge to the traffic circle (Plaza de la Victimas del Terrorismo) and turn left. Now we just follow the river Rio Iro towards the saline outback. After about 30 minutes we pass the restaurant and salt experience place Las Salinas María de Jesus, the only stop for an imbiss. We continue to follow the path, which is always at ground level without any ascent. The tour is interrupted by different viewpoints and if we are lucky we can observe crabs and different species of birds.
Duration: 1,5-2 hours (one way)
ES| El recorrido es muy fácil. Desde el aparcamiento pasamos por el puente azul hasta la glorieta (Plaza de la Víctimas del Terrorismo) y allí giramos a la izquierda. Ahora simplemente seguimos el Rio Iro hacia el paisaje salino. Después de unos 30 minutos pasamos el restaurante y lugar de actividades de sal Las Salinas María de Jesús, el único lugar para tomar algo. Seguimos por el camino, que siempre es de nivel plano sin ninguna subida. El recorrido se interrumpe por varios miradores y, si tenemos suerte, podemos observar cangrejos y varias especies de aves.

DE| Die Tour ist sehr einfach. Vom Parkplatz gehen wir über die blaue Brücke zum Kreisverkehr (Plaza de la Victimas del Terrorismo) und biegen dort links ab. Nun folgen wir einfach dem Fluß Rio Iro hinein in die Salinenlandschaft. Nach knapp 30 Minuten passieren wir das Restaurant und Salz-Erlebnisort Las Salinas María de Jesus, die einzige Einkehrmöglichkeit. Wir folgen weiter dem Weg, der stets ebenerdig verläuft ohne jeglichen Anstieg. Unterbrochen wird die Tour durch verschiedene Aussichtspunkte und wenn wir Glück haben, können wir Krebse und verschiedenste Vogelarten beobachten.
Dauer: 1,5-2 Stunden (einfache Strecke)

EN| Of course you can also do the tour the other way round. If you are interested in history you will find many places along the route important for salt extraction or strategic points in the battle.
ES| Por supuesto se puede hacer este recorrido al revés. Si estás interesado en la historia, puedes descubrir algunos sitios importantes para la extración de sal o estratégicos en la batalla.
DE| Selbstverständlich kann man die Tour auch andersrum machen. Wer geschichtlich interessiert ist, wird einige Stellen entdecken, die wichtig für den Salzabbau waren bzw. strategische Ausgangspunkte in der Schlacht.
GOOD TO KNOW
EN| There is no shade on the whole tour. The tour can be done both on foot and by bike. Don't hezitate to take your binoculars and/or camera with you.
ES| No hay sombra en todo el recorrido. Este sendero se puede hacer a pie o en bicicleta. Lo mejor es llevar los prismáticos y/o la cámara de fotos.
DE| Auf der gesamten Tour ist kein Schatten. Die Tour kann sowohl zu Fuß wie auch mit dem Rad gemacht werden. Nimm am besten auch Dein Fernglas und/oder Kamera mit.
