DE Es wird erzählt, daß das Gebiet früher im Besitz eines Deutschen war. Die Familie war so mächtig, daß sie von jedem Reisenden, der ihr Gebiet durchqueren wollte, eine Abgabe verlangten. Deshalb wird das natürliche Tunnel auch Paso de los Alemanes (= Durchgang der Deutschen) genannt.
How to get there
EN| From Baracoa the easiest way is to take a taxi. The trip is around 15 CUC back and forth. The route is very simple. In Cabacu turn to the left in direction to Yumuri/Maisi. Then just follow the street. This trip is also very nice for a bike excursion. But be aware: The country is hilly and it is very hot! ES| Desde Baracoa lo mas facil es tomar un taxi. El precio es aproximadamente 15 CUC ida y vuelta. El tiempo de viaje es 30 minutos. La ruta es muy fácil que encontrar. En Cabacu coges a la izqierda en direción Yumuri/Maisi y sigues siempre la carretera. El camino es también muy bonito para un recorrido en bicicleta. Pero cuidado: El terreno tiene mucha loma y hace calor! DE| Von Baracoa nimmst Du am besten ein Taxi. Die Fahrt kostet hin und zurück ca. 15 CUC. Die Fahrzeit beträgt ungefähr 30 Minuten. Die Strecke ist ganz einfach. In Cabacu biegst Du links Richtung Yumuri/Maisi ab und folgst dann immer der Hauptstraße. Die Strecke eignet sich auch wunderbar für eine Radtour. Aber Achtung: Das Gelände ist hügelig und es ist heiß!
